Position Description:
We seek motivated undergraduate researchers to explore AI-driven transportation solutions, focusing on personalized vehicle analytics, intelligent mobility systems, and large language models (LLMs) for transportation insights. Students will work with machine learning, neural networks, and mobility data to develop models for autonomous vehicle behavior, predictive analytics, and real-time decision-making. Preferred skills include familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or AI frameworks, though no prior experience is required. We actively support students in submitting their work to journal publications and presenting at local and international conferences, providing guidance and funding opportunities for attendance.
Faculty Advisor Mentoring Philosophy:
I am committed to mentoring undergraduate researchers through personalized guidance, hands-on training, and a supportive and fun environment. My philosophy is to balance structured mentorship with independent exploration, making sure students will get some expertise in problem solving using Artificial Intelligence. Many of my past mentees have successfully transitioned to graduate programs (PhD) and industry roles. I will also provide opportunities for students to continue working in our lab beyond the program if they are interested.
