The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship supports Pell-eligible undergraduate students with substantial financial assistance (up to $5,000) to study or intern abroad, plus an additional $3,000 for the study of a Critical Need Language.
At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Gilman Scholarship applicants are supported by a partnership between the UNL Office of Global Experiences and the Office of Undergraduate Research & Fellowships.

Spring Application OPEN NOW!
Applications Due: March 5, 2026 11:59 pm (Pacific Time)
Apply in Spring to fund study abroad during Summer 2026, Fall 2026, academic year 2026-2027, and Spring 2027 abroad programs or internships (between May 1, 2026 and April 30, 2027).
Fall Application Opens: mid-August 2026
Applications Due: October 1, 2026 11:59 pm (Pacific Time)
Apply in Fall to fund study abroad during Winter 2027, Spring 2027, Summer 2027, Fall 2027, and academic year 2027-2028 abroad programs (between December 1, 2026 and October 31, 2027).
