Opportunity Description:
This research position involves conducting literature reviews to develop human-machine interaction strategies for automated driving systems. The project will also include the development of a simulator platform that integrates an interface for shared control between human drivers and automation systems. Driver cognitive states and biomarkers (such as heart rate, skin conductance, and gaze) will be measured to analyze driver behavior and mental activities.
Faculty Advisor Mentoring Philosophy:
I aim to establish long-term relationships with students, supporting them whether they choose careers in industry or pursue graduate studies. My focus is on providing hands-on research experience, particularly for first-generation students entering the field. One of my primary goals for students is to help them contribute to publications, whether as the lead author or a co-author. I will hold weekly meetings to review research progress and address any challenges. I encourage students to spend time in the lab to facilitate quick communication, but I am flexible with work schedules and locations as long as there is clear and consistent communication.
